SYNOPSIS
Craig, an NYU film school freshman in 1972 meets Warhol superstar
Jackie Curtis. Jackie takes Craig to meet his grandmother ‘Slugger Ann’
who runs a working-class bar on the Lower East Side. Afterwards they
spend the night in his dormitory. Craig goes to sleep with Jackie
Curtis girl and wakes up with Jackie Curtis boy. That’s the beginning
of a two-year relationship, with wild times with Jackie sometimes a
boy, sometimes a girl.
Fellow Warhol superstars Holly Woodlawn and Candy Darling are part of
the mix, and their escapades include shoplifting designer gowns,
indiscreet encounters with sailors during Fleet Week, and mayhem and
madness at both Max’s Kansas City, and Andy Warhol’s birthday party for
superstar Ultra Violet. Craig works with director Ron Link who produces
both Curtis’ Off Off-Broadway play “Glamour, Glory and Gold”, and
“Cabaret in the Sky: An Evening with Holly Woodlawn and Jackie
Curtis”. But clandestine drug use results in the end of Curtis
and Craig’s relationship, and ultimately in Curtis’s untimely and
bizarre demise.
