SYNOPSIS
In 2012 Juarez, Mexico, Lola lives in an abandoned car in
the boonies. She witnesses a shooting, and later steals from the dead
bodies. Taking her newfound gains, she goes to her friend’s place who
takes her out to a party. There, the son of a cartel boss attempts to
rape her. She kills him in self-defense. Escaping, he makes it to
her Tia Marva's home, and is sold to become William Nagle's trophy wife
in Texas. William is a wealthy businessman with three adult sons -
Carl, Branson, and Billy. Bea, the family's longtime caretaker,
secretly runs a human trafficking operation to help William’s
businesses. After William and Lola marry, tensions rise as Bea becomes
jealous of their relationship. When Bea discovers Lola's secret and
attacks her, William forces Bea to leave. Meanwhile, El Jefe, a
powerful cartel leader, is hunting Lola to avenge his son Jorge's
death. The cartel eventually tracks Lola down, leading to a violent
shootout at the Nagle mansion that kills William and others. Billy, who
is gay, develops feelings for Lola and protects her. The story
culminates at the Nagle's annual gun tournament where Billy and the
family orchestrate a trap to eliminate El Jefe and his cartel. Though
Lola is wounded in a final assassination attempt, she survives and
finds acceptance with herself and her new family.
